Symbolic Map

This project is about making a map about my life. I needed first to create an island, invented, and then create symbols which represent my life. Then, after each symbol represented something I needed to create geographic features for each one of them. I had the Golf Town, Europe City, a Party Disco, the ForesTv, then there is the Taco Valley, the Birth Bay, Sushi Volcano, Fireworks Delta and finally, the Family Peninsula. Also I needed to create a map key with all the symbols. Finally I needed to create an original compass rose, and add a title to the map. My map is called Golf Island.
This was a hard project to do. One thing that was very hard for me at the beginning was to get an icon for each important event or thing in my life. Those symbols are not just paintings, they have a mining for me. What I think it was the most difficult part about the project was to paint each geografic feature with different colors and styles without mixing them up or messing the island. The most challenging thing was to be able to finish on time, because I was absent a few classes, and getting caught up was kind of difficult, but I made it.

Half-Portrait

This project was about drawing the half of your own face. First we needed to take a picture from our selves. After that I needed to cut the picture the way I wanted to, I decided to cut it in a strait line from the top to the bottom in the center of the picture. The idea was that we were able to draw at least a little part of the hair, eyes, nose and mouth. Then we needed to draw the missing part of the face and make it look as similar as possible to the original one.
This was a very challenging project. First of all, the idea of trying to copy yourself is hard to achieve. It was difficult because we commonly draw faces, but not realistic. We draw them but just with the idea of them having a mouth a nose, hair, two eyes, and two ears. When I tried to work on this project, it was difficult for me trying to copy me as exactly as possible. For me it worked by turning up side down the paper and trying to make it look pretty similar. I did a great effort and it was a nice result.

Tennis Ball (Sketch)

This tennis ball is an sketch. I need to draw, color, paint whatever comes to my mind once a week. I chose this sketch, the tennis ball, because I think it is the best sketch I have made so far. The thing about this tennis ball is that it has shading, the way it has to have. I believe that this tennis ball is original because it looks pretty real. It looks like a real tennis ball. It has the same colors, and it looks as if it has those green, kind of yellow hairs. It is awesome.
I took a lot of time working on this sketch. This work shows my dedication on it. The most challenging thing was to do the shadow. I try to do this tennis ball as exactly as possible. I didn't had a tennis ball on front of me while I was doing it. It was a hard drawing, I used only color pencils. Doing it without a model tennis ball, was difficult. I am glad that I could achieve my goal and make it look as similar as possible. Next time I do something similar, I will have a model to copy from it and I will look closely for more details.
